Inherent amongst CSO’s active in the urban sector in Kenya is an assortment of innovative basic service delivery approaches. As a platform, CSUDP supports CO's to pilot these high impact and high value approaches that bring innovation, efficiency and sustainability in urban basic services provision to the low-income urban population.
Specifically, CSUDP seeks innovations that reduce cost, expands access by poor and low income communities, creates employment / livelihood opportunities and enhances the business performance of the service provider (e.g utility companies).
Select Civil Society Organizations constitute the vehicle through which these multi-stakeholder partnership projects that involves public agencies, private sector, community organization and other actors are anchored.
After successfully demonstrating the viability of these delivery models, CSUDP advocates for their mainstreaming in public service delivery by the state as well as partnerships to support up-scaling of the interventions.
